Why are middle schools and high schools so obsessed with teaching about WW2 and the Holocaust?

I know it's important but it's like all we ever learned about from 6-12 grade. In history class we would get through all the book up to WWII by about early March and no joke, the rest of the unit would be spent on WWII and we never got to Korea, Vietnam, the hippies, Reagan, Clinton and 9/11 at all. We read five different about the Holocaust in reading classes (Number the Stars, Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Diary of Anne Frank, Night and Schindler's List) but we only read one of Shakespeare's plays (MacBeth). I took a religious studies class and when we got to Judaism all they talked about was the Holocaust like no other part of their history mattered. Is this just my school or it all schools? No wonder kids don't know any history we only focus on one part of it!

i wired money to a company called CM Yap Corporate Consultants SHD BHD in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia on March 25, 2011. It went to HSBC Bank Malaysia. It was for a loan to a person who later scammed me but for now I will deal with this matter here. The Bank here in Toronto took the info and I wanted to give special instructions to the bank and place it on the wire transfer but the bank told me they had no space to include the instructions...so they just wired the money . The HSBC Bank deposited it and quickly it was withdrawn. The person who later was telling they did not receive the money , told me that the CM YAP Corporate Consultants did not give him the money. On April 1, 2011 I called the company and later received an email that the bank account was a private investment funds account and the owner was not CM Yap Coporate Consultants but a private person named Frederick Onyeoma and he was receiving my money from some investments he had overseas to disperse to his beneficiaries as he liked, I got very angry over this info and contacted my bank who have told me that they did as instructed and I lost the money. It is fraud all the way. I contacted the Police who told me to contact my bank. I contacted my Bank who told me they do not investigate bank accounts, I need to know who righfully owns the account I transferred money to in Malaysia. DUI question-banned for life?

A friend of mine got his 4th DUI in 2008 in the state of Illinois. He is currently on probation for it. His hearing officer told him that the judge handed down convictions on his prior 3 DUIs which were originally adjudicated as supervisions. I need help about some recent events related to psychic abilities.?

Why are middle schools and high schools so obsessed with teaching about WW2 and the Holocaust?

I know it's important but it's like all we ever learned about from 6-12 grade. In history class we would get through all the book up to WWII by about early March and no joke, the rest of the unit would be spent on WWII and we never got to Korea, Vietnam, the hippies, Reagan, Clinton and 9/11 at all. We read five different about the Holocaust in reading classes (Number the Stars, Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Diary of Anne Frank, Night and Schindler's List) but we only read one of Shakespeare's plays (MacBeth). I took a religious studies class and when we got to Judaism all they talked about was the Holocaust like no other part of their history mattered. Is this just my school or it all schools? No wonder kids don't know any history we only focus on one part of it!

I am thinking of couple cosplays including skits that would require a smoke pellet. But due to con regulations they can in no way involve fire or even sparks. Well, first of all, I think you should think about any of the friends you use to have. Think about their qualities. The stuff you did like, try to see if you can't find those in your "new" friends. What should I do about shady financial practices by my employer?

Currently, I am employed as a server in a local restaurant. Unlike every other restaurant I've ever worked in, this particular one chooses to disperse our credit card tips in our weekly paycheck as opposed to receiving all our tips in cash (credit card included) at the end of every night. This particular part doesn't really bother me because as long as I get all of my money it doesn't matter to me what the form. The problem is with the system used to calculate the tips and transfer them to the paychecks. When I started working there, fellow servers encouraged me to keep thorough records of what I made every night in case there was ever a discrepancy in my check amounts. At first I didn't think much of it but almost every week since I've been there at least one server has had tips missing from their check. They take their individual reports to management, who promises to fix it but some people wait months for this to happen. One server recently told me about a conversation she had with the employee in charge of the payroll who seemed surprised that she kept track of her tips because "alot of people don't" (supposedly said with a grin indicating that the company may be fully aware of these "mistakes"). Also, I recently had my own issue of them accidentally clocking in an employee under my number so that her tips technically went to me for the night and then showed up on my paycheck. They told me that the only thing I could do would be to write her a check for the tips for that night, which makes sense if you don't consider taxes or the fact that those earnings are going to be reported on my income statement. Couldn't they have just withheld the tips from my next paycheck, reimbursed me for the taxes, then credited her on her next check? They've been "cleaning house" lately and I need the job so I don't want to complain to management, but it would be so nice for someone unaffiliated with the company to take a look at their financial practices, I do suspect illegal activity but I could definitely just be seen as a disgruntled employee by anyone in power and I'm not really sure what to do. Worst night ever! how do i fix some stuff?

During WWII, did USA suffer from air-bombing?

Other than Pearl Harbor the US was never bombed in any significant way and Pearl Harbor was only bombed once. There were a couple of small incidents by the Japanese and one by the Germans but they were too trivial. Compare that with Britain - every major industrial city and port were bombed some of them many, many times. During the Blitz, London was bombed for 76 consecutive nights and somewhere in Britain was bombed on almost every single night of the war - which lasted almost six years for us. That kind of puts it in perspective.

I agree with you, it was a very well worked promo, so well done that I thought it was real, but it was staged, as his his storyline suspension. I was going through my grandfather Discharge Orders from the Army. He served during WWII. Under Battles and Campaigns it reads " GO 33 & 40 WD 45 RYUKYUS". Can anyone tell me what these stand for? I know he was in the Pacific Theatre for 16 months. He received the Bronze Star while he was there. Unfortunately, I was never able to ask him these questions before he passed away. A lot has changed with nph. Jace and mystic were banned and phyrexian mana was introduced. I would like to make a U/B vampire deck that takes peoples life before they can spend it on phyrexian mana. I believe since jace is gone and more people are relying on phyrexian mana to cast their spells that a U/B vampire deck that uses lots oaf removal like a control deck but also a lot of life loss and gain will be more successful than other decks. EX cards are forbidden in tournaments as they are from an older set. Even some of your trainer and energy cards might be quite old and forbidden. Go to http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Modified_format_(TCG) as it shows you which cards are legal. So for example, your RR Jolteon can be used in tournaments because it's newer (made more recently). Your Flareon EX can't be used because EX cards are quite old (made some time ago). Basically, the newer the card, the longer it will be able to be used in tournaments. That link I gave you showed an explanation on what you were exactly confused about on the older sets. That is Pokemons version of a ban list. Usually not how good a card is, but how old it is. Hope this helped!

Do I have grounds to sue my school's financial aid office?

The last time I attended my college was in 2006 and I was placed on academic probation for not maintaining SAP. I enrolled in classes again in November of 2010 and received correspondence via US MAIL fro my school that I was still on probation and it was necessary for me to improve in order to continue to receive my aid. I completed the Winter session with an A and started Spring at the end of January and so far are pulling 4 A's and 2 B's. I have an EFC of 0 and have a large unmet need in order for me to complete school. I met with a counselor and have been recommended to start applying for universities this fall to attend Fall 2012. This past Friday, I requested a loan from the Financial Aid department but was told that I would not receive the loan and that I would be suspended because of my failure to progress, stemming from 2006/2007 school year. I was told that I would not receive my Pell grant and that I would owe whatever funds were already dispersed to me. I was also told that I could not appeal because the deadline was April 15th although they suspended after the deadline date. The dispersement is scheduled in 5 days and seeing as how I was using the money not only for room and board costs but also to attend the summer semester, this suspension and my not receiving my aid damages me completely. My rent, my transportation, my attending the next semester is dependent on my receiving my aid and now I will not receive it. Do I have right to sue? I had no notification of my being suspended - and I am told that I can do nothing, but again, this will damage me and my career extensively. HELP!
